Hodgson backs Hart despite England blunders

England manager Roy Hodgson has backed Joe Hart despite the goalkeeper's poor performance during the Three Lions 4-2 friendly defeat to Sweden on Wednesday night.

The Manchester City No. 1 had a torrid time against the home side's talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who netted four times, including a 35-yard free kick and a 30-yard bicycle kick with Hart at fault for both. Despite the 25-year-old's disappointing display, the 65-year-old boss showed his support for the keeper, stating England will have "a lot of success" with him between the posts.

"We're not bothered about Joe Hart, and we think for the future, going forward, he's a very good goalkeeper and we will have a lot of success with him in the goal, and if tonight it wasn't maybe one of his absolute best days, this happens in football," Hodgson said.

Hart failed to stop a powerful Ibrahimovic volley for Sweden's second goal and was beaten from distance at his near post by the imposing forward for the third as Sweden went ahead in the game for the second time.

For the fourth, Hart raced from his line in the 90th minute to deal with a long ball, but could not get a clean connection with a headed clearance, and PSG striker fashioned a majestic volley from distance to seal the victory.

Hodsgon is still confident in his No. 1 goalkeeper, suggesting a dip in form is simply part and parcel of any footballer's life - and maintained Hart will recover and lead England on to better days.

"These things happen. I think the third goal got a slight deflection, and it was a shot from distance where we wouldn't normally think of conceding a goal," Hodgson said. "The fourth one, he got a very unpleasant bounce. The ball actually really pitched up, and he couldn't get the purchase on his header, and it led of course to Zlatan scoring his acrobatic goal."

Ibrahimovic: Gerrard must quit Liverpool to win more silverware

Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has urged Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard to quit his club in a bid to win major trophies before he retires from professional football.

The Paris Saint-Germain star thinks that the 32-year-old - who is due to win his 100th cap for the Three Lions against the Scandinavians on Wednesday - could still win major competitions, but would have to leave the club he has spent his whole playing career with in a bid to add to his trophy cabinet.

"Every time we play against Steven, the coach always says to be careful because he is the player that makes the difference," Ibrahimovic told reporters. "But I would like to see Steven in - of course, Liverpool is a big club - but in a big international club.

"I would like to see it also for England, because it is very exciting when someone goes abroad and shows who he is in another competition."

The Anfield legend played his 600th game for the Reds against Chelsea last weekend and has won a vast array of silverware, including two FA Cup titles, the UEFA Cup in 2001 and the Champions League, as Liverpool captain, in 2005.

"For me, a fantastic player can make a difference in every country wherever he plays," Ibrahimovic continued. "I’m pretty sure that Steven would do that. He is playing in one of the best leagues in the world. He’s a fantastic player."

Chelsea reveals that Terry will be out for 'weeks' rather than 'months' after MRI

Chelsea has confirmed John Terry will be sidelined for 'weeks' rather than 'months' following the defender's MRI on his cruciate ligament injury.

After being left out for the club's Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk, Terry put Chelsea ahead in the first half against Brendan Rodgers side before being stretchered off in the 38th minute with suspected cruciate ligmanet damage. However, the club has since moved to confirm that the injury is not as bad as first feared.

"Today's MRI scans on John Terry's right knee thankfully show no significant damage to the cruciate ligaments," a statement on the club's official website read. "Chelsea Football Club's medical team will conduct further tests over the next two or three days once the swelling has subsided to determine how long John will be out, but it will be a matter of weeks not months."

Liverpool equalized in the second half courtesy of a Luis Suarez header and manager Roberto Di Matteo pointed to the Terry injury as a turning point in the game, stating the rest of the side missed his influence.

"Well you saw how he started the game. He was old fashioned with his quality and experience and obviously scored the goal as well," Di Matteo told Sky Sports.

"Certainly he’s very influential in our game and our team and certainly we miss him
."

The game marked the Chelsea captain's first league appearances since serving a four-match ban for racially abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinand.

World Player of the Week: Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez - Manchester United

Manchester United's remarkable record of snatching victory from the jaws of defeat this season continued last week, with Mexico striker Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez the hero for the Red Devils with three goals in two appearances (though he will no doubt claim four).

The 24-year-old capped his side's win away at Sporting Braga in midweek to seal its progression to the Champions League knockout phase, rounding goalkeeper Beto before poking high into the roof of the net after his initial effort was cleared off the line.

However, it was during Saturday's victory over Aston Villa that Hernandez had his biggest impact. Introduced at halftime and with his side trailing 2-0 after 50 minutes, the 'Little Pea' turned the game on its head, first slotting coolly beneath Brad Guzan following Paul Scholes' pass before driving Rafael's cross in off defender Ron Vlaar.

With only three minutes of normal time remaining, the former Chivas hitman sealed another vital win for Sir Alex Ferguson's side, steering Robin van Persie's free kick into the bottom corner with a superb diving header, extending United's lead at the top of the Premier League to two points.

GTA V Trailer Reveal and Rewind Theater November 14th

Call of Duty: Black Ops II

The single-player campaign will feature two connected storylines, one set in the 1970s through 1980s and the other in 2025. The protagonist of Black Ops, Alex Mason returns as the protagonist in the Cold War section, where he will be fighting in proxy wars for the United States in the Cold War. This section of the game will also see the rise to infamy of the game's primary antagonist, Raul Menendez. Mallorca 2-4 Barcelona: History-maker Messi steadies brittle Blaugrana

Despite taking a three-goal lead into half time, Barcelona survived a second-half scare from Mallorca to win 4-2 at Iberostar Stadium.

Xavi put the Blaugrana on the path to recovering from their shock midweek UEFA Champions League defeat to Celtic with a sumptuous free kick, and goals from Lionel Messi and Christian Tello ensured a comfortable lead at the break.

The hosts came back out fighting, though, and pulled two back through Michael Pereira and Victor Casadesus. However, Messi once more saved the day as he ensured that Barca's blushes were spared when he slammed in his 76th goal of 2012, breaking Pele's mark for strikes in a calender year in the process. Messi trails just German great Gerd Muller, who scored 85 goals in 1972.

Mallorca set out to stifle the Catalan giants, dropping midfielders back when out of possession to create a wall of bodies in front of their own goal. In time, Joaquin Caparros' team grew in confidence but was unable to take the chances that came its way. After blazing over from Ximo's cross moments before, Tomer Hemed saw his header turned around the post by a scrambling Victor Valdes in the 22nd minute.

But it proved only to be a brief scare for the Blaugrana, as a moment of pure quality saw them break the deadlock. From a central free kick 25 yards from goal, Xavi curled a majestic, pinpoint shot over the wall and into the top-left corner with 28 minutes on the clock.

Tito Vilanova's men had enjoyed more than 70 percent of the possession throughout the first half, and they finally put a worthy distance between them and the opposition with two goals in quick succession before the break.

First, Messi was afforded too much space for his low shot that left Dudu Aouate red-faced as the keeper allowed it to slip through his grasp in the 44th minute. Then, one minute later, Tello received the ball on the left and after cutting in-field onto his weaker foot, swept a powerful effort past the keeper and into the bottom corner.

Mallorca began its comeback in the 55th minute, as Javier Mascherano was caught in possession by Victor, who then lofted the ball to the far post where Pereira remained composed to fire over Valdes and in. Three minutes later, the deficit was halved as Victor sent a penalty straight down the middle following a handball from Sergio Busquets in the area.

But Barca used all of its experience to take the sting out of the game by holding the ball. They then extinguished any hope of a comeback as Messi rifled in an emphatic second following a brilliant knockdown from Alexis Sanchez.

Messi missed a fantastic chance to complete his hat-trick in the 88th minute, but the win means the Catalan side remains unbeaten this season and temporarily opens up a six-point gap over Atletico Madrid at the top of the Liga table.

Villas-Boas: Manchester City made it difficult for Tottenham to play

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas praised Manchester City's work rate after the defending champion's 2-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, admitting that his team struggled to find its rhythm.

Things weren't looking good for City when Steven Caulker gave Spurs the lead in the first half, but the home side improved after the break and was rewarded when Edin Dzeko scored a late winner after Sergio Aguero had equalized.

Villas-Boas explained his game plan after the match but conceded that Spurs had found it difficult to get to grips with their opponent's high defensive line and heavy pressing.

"The plan before the game was to try and hold on to the ball a bit more, to have possession and try to connect up and link the wingers," he told Sky Sports. "It was difficult because Manchester City's line was very high and they pushed us very well, so it was difficult to make that second pass in the link up play."

Villas-Boas controversially left Jermain Defoe on the bench despite his hat-trick in midweek against Maribor in the Europa League, but defended his decision to select Emmanuel Adebayor in attack for the fixture.

"In the end, he [Adebayor] had a positive impact regarding the structure we put together," he insisted. "It's a pity we didn't get a result in the end."

Levante 1 - 2 Real Madrid

PROBABLE LINEUPS

Levante could have winger Nabil El Zhar available for Sunday's Primera Division encounter with Real Madrid at the Ciutat de Valencia. The Morocco international missed the last three games with a calf problem but has returned to light training and is almost certain to make the bench.

Gustavo Munua will return in goal after being rested for Thursday's Europa League clash with Twente, while midfielder Dariusz Dudka (groin) is sidelined.

Meanwhile, Madrid is without both Gonzalo Higuain, who was ruled out for three weeks with a hamstring injury sustained in the 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund, and Karim Benzema, who is also sidelined with a muscle strain. As a result, Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to be deployed as the lone center forward.

Sami Khedira and Marcelo are still out, but Fabio Coentrao (groin) may return, while Xabi Alonso is available after serving a one-match ban against Zaragoza.

Did you know?

  • Levante is on a three-match winless run in all competitions and have failed to score in that sequence.
  • However, the Valencian club has won its last seven home matches across all competitions and is unbeaten at the Ciutat de Valencia this season.
  • Sixth-placed Levante will move level on points with its opponent in the Primera Division table with victory on Sunday.
  • Real Madrid has won just two of its last five away matches in La Liga (W2 D1 L2).
  • Los Merengues have failed to win on their last three visits to Levante in all competitions (D1 L2).
  • Mesut Ozil (pictured) became the 12th Madrid player to score this season with his late equalizer against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Chelsea 1 - 1 Liverpool

LONDON -- An unconvincing Liverpool made Chelsea pay for its profligacy by coming from behind to steal a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

The home side’s pain at letting two points slip was augmented by a serious injury to Chelsea goalscorer John Terry, who faces an uncertain future after being stretchered off in the 40thminute with suspected knee ligament damage.
Terry’s 20th minute header and a series of dangerous counterattacks had given Chelsea hope the club could climb to within a point of the Premier League leader Manchester United. But Roberto Di Matteo’s team failed to finish off their visiting side and Luis Suarez made it pay 17 minutes from the end with his eighth league goal of the season.

It leaves Chelsea third in the table, three points behind United, while Liverpool remains in a distant 13th position.
To add to the home side’s agony, Terry left the pitch with his head in his hands and a look of rare vulnerability on his face after receiving five minutes of treatment in the wake of his accidental collision with Suarez.
Predictably, Liverpool made eight changes from the side that lost 1-0 in Russia against Anzhi on Thursday. With Pepe Reina failing to make the match-day 18, Brad Jones remained in goal, while Jamie Carragher replaced the ill Martin Skrtel.
Andre Wisdom kept his place despite the return of Glen Johnson, as Brendan Rodgers opted to start with three central defenders flanked by wing backs Johnson and Jose Enrique.
For Chelsea, Terry returned to the starting X1 after being overlooked in midweek. He was paired with Branislav Ivanovic rather than Gary Cahill or David Luiz, who had tonsillitis.
With the injured Ashley Cole replaced by his understudy Ryan Bertrand and Cesar Azpilicueta making only his second league start, there was an even fresher feel to the new-look Chelsea.
It was another exciting addition to the home team, Oscar, who came close to giving Chelsea a sixth-minute lead after Joe Allen lost possession but the Brazilian lifted his shot over the bar from 15 yards out.
Just when Rodgers’ 3-5-2 formation appeared to be bearing fruit, with his team dominating possession, simple human error gifted Chelsea the opening goal midway through the opening period.
Juan Mata curled in a corner from the right and Liverpool’s zonal system, most notably Daniel Agger, failed to track the run of Terry, who gleefully hammered a free header into the top corner for his 50th Chelsea goal in his 558th appearance.
It was one of Terry’s last acts of the afternoon. The captain was stretchered off, in severe pain, after Suarez’s full body weight landed on his knee. Judging by the agonized look on the Englishman’s face, subsequent tests in the Stamford Bridge medical room could reveal ligament damage.
Despite Liverpool having 64 percent of the first half possession, Chelsea was far more dangerous and Mata’s brilliant run shortly before the whistle ended with a wild finish rather than the second goal.
It was the same theme after the break, with Petr Cech little more than an interested spectator as all the action hummed around the opposing goalmouth. Mata arrowed a shot narrowly wide and Jones saved smartly from Torres’ flashed header.
Chelsea should have been out of sight by the time Liverpool made it pay for its profligacy with a smartly worked corner in the 73rd minute.
Substitute Suso curled the ball into the near post, Carragher met it with a neat flick and an unchallenged Suarez applied the headed finish with his 11th goal of the season.
Liverpool finished strongly and Suarez could have gone on to win the game for the club had last man Petr Cech not timed his charge perfectly late on.

One More Night - Maroon 5

You and I go hard at each other like we're going to war
You and I go rough, we keep throwing things and slamming the door
You and I get so damn dysfunctional, we start keeping score
You and I get sick, yeah I know that we can't do this no more

But baby there you go again, there you go again, making me love you
Yeah I stopped using my head, using my head, let it all go
Got you stuck on my body, on my body like a tattoo
And now I'm feeling stupid, feeling stupid coming back to you

So I cross my heart and I hope to die
That I'll only stay with you one more night
And I know I said it a million times
But I'll only stay with you one more night

Try to tell you no but my body keeps on telling you yes
Try to tell you stop but your lipstick's got me so out of breath
I'll be waking up in the morning probably hating myself
And I'll be waking up feeling satisfied but guilty as hell

But baby there you go again, there you go again, making me love you
And I stopped using my head, using my head, let it all go
Got you stuck on my body, on my body like a tattoo
And now I'm feeling stupid, feeling stupid running back to you

So I cross my heart and I hope to die
That I'll only stay with you one more night
And I know I said it a million times
But I'll only stay with you one more night

Yeah baby give me one more night
Yeah baby give me one more night
Yeah baby give me one more night

Baby there you go again, there you go again, making me love you
And I stopped using my head, using my head, let it all go
Got you stuck on my body, on my body like a tattoo
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

So I cross my heart and I hope to die
That I'll only stay with you one more night
And I know I said it a million times
But I'll only stay with you one more night
(Yeah baby give me one more night)

So I cross my heart and I hope to die
That I'll only stay with you one more night
And I know I said it a million times
But I'll only stay with you one more night

Oppa is Gangnam style
Gangnam style

A girl who is warm and humanle during the day
A classy girl who know how to enjoy the freedom of a cup of coffee
A girl whose heart gets hotter when night comes
A girl with that kind of twist

I’m a guy
A guy who is as warm as you during the day
A guy who one-shots his coffee before it even cools down
A guy whose heart bursts when night comes
That kind of guy

Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Now let’s go until the end

Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style

Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh

A girl who looks quiet but plays when she plays
A girl who puts her hair down when the right time comes
A girl who covers herself but is more sexy than a girl who bares it all
A sensable girl like that

I’m a guy
A guy who seems calm but plays when he plays
A guy who goes completely crazy when the right time comes
A guy who has bulging ideas rather than muscles
That kind of guy

Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Now let’s go until the end

Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style

Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh

On top of the running man is the flying man, baby baby
I’m a man who knows a thing or two
On top of the running man is the flying man, baby baby
I’m a man who knows a thing or two

You know what I’m saying
